We plan on trying to do a different cover at each show and not playing the same one over and over. Just one cover per show. That one was our first and most likely won't get done again unless requested...so no worries.
I was rather proud of it myself though. Chelle had been wanting to cover that song for years and finally found some chaps who were willing...I came up with playing it over Ozzy and was pleasantly surprised how well it worked.

I'll post it on youtube soon if anyone wants to see what we are talking about.

That would be nice, because "Crazy Train" achieved overplayed status back in 1986. Although, it was a much better choice than "Black Betty".

You should try something more obscure next time, like "Smoke On The Water".

You should see what we did with it before you judge...it is not Crazy Train.

Jake is correct.

It's kinda like a live mashup.

Yeah. I've been around music awhile, so I know what a mashup is. Mashups are a neat novelty. Oddly enough, I fused Ozzy's "Flying High Again" with Poison's "Nothing But A Good Time" about ten years ago. There was also a local band called Pete The Iguana that had a song called "Pete The Iguana". I fused that song with Poison's "Cry Tough". It's funny how Poison songs work in that format.

Jmo heard it without warning, and still said it was "Crazy Train". The mashup didn't make it "not Crazy Train". As soon as that opening riff hits, it's over. Luckily, if anybody needs a "Crazy Train" fix, they can hang out anytime during the day at Guitar Center for free. Dancing

The link was for anyone who may have not known what I meant. Smile

The only "Crazy Train" part about the song in question was the opening/main riff. The song had the same chord progression so we threw in the Crazy Train part for the heck of it. Not trying to be a "novelty", just wanted to have fun with the song.

Not sure if Jake & Chelle want to put it online or not. If they do, I'll post a link.

A link would help clarify things. Didn't you guys do a cover of "Dirty Diana" too? Or is that the song you blended in with "Crazy Train"? Smooth

If you guys do a full cover of "Rocka Rolla", I will never criticize Shot Of Mercury again. Silenced

Yep. That's what we did. A mashup of DD + CT. They have the same chord progression so why not? It was fun while it lasted. Smile But why do you want to criticize us? We're just having fun.

Next show is a house...um Barn Party. We're playing w/ Western Aerial. Should be a fun gig!
