About GrynchGrynch is a four piece alternative metal band from Eugene, Oregon. Formed in the cold, wet winter of 2001, Grynch has emerged over time to be one of the most intense acts in the Northwest. With their high energy stage presence, heavy riffs and grab you by the throat lyrics, Grynch is a band that demands your attention with every show they play. Debuting on April 20, 2002 at a show they organized, financed, and promoted, Grynch along with five other local bands put on a free concert in the park with sponsors such as Tactics Boardshop, Tattoo By Design, High Priestess Piercing, Hunky Dory, Lazaar's donating merchandise to the crowd. Since then Grynch has built a strong solid fanbase throughout the Northwest. Grynch has also aquired critical praises at regional Battle of the Bands. They won First Place in the Splint Media Battle of the Bands in Eugene in January of 2003, as well as First Place in round one of the Sugarlight Productions Battle of the Bands in Portland the same year. They backed that up with a Second Place in the finals of the Sugarlight Productions Battle of the Bands a few months later. The four piece then took Third Place in the University of Oregon Culture Forum's Eugene Battle of the Bands held in March of 2004. followed by a Fourth Place at the Sandmaster Jam 2004 Battle of the Bands in Florence. They have performed at more than 40 different venues throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and California including: The 2002 Eugene Celebration, McDonald Theatre (Eugene), Crystal Ballroom (Portland), WOW Hall (Eugene), Rock n' Roll Pizza (Portland), El Corazon (Seattle), The Tea House (Coeur d' Arlene), La Salles (Chico) and The Town Pump (Yuba City). Along the way they have had the honor of performing with over 150 different bands including: Fishbone, Floater, Red With Envy, Domeshots, Falling Closer, Northwest Royale, Kapuda, Forrestal's Fall, Kaddisfly, Ding Mao, Mercy Fall, Dfive9, TV:616 and so many others. They are currently performing in support of there full length CD "Untytled", which was released in May.
