PDXRocks.com was born out of the ashes of the Pdxnet.net board. It had not been working properly for some time, and we needed a new place to meet up and talk with each other, and with other musicians.
In August 2004, Al and Mark decided to create PDXRocks.com. On August 23, 2004, the board was launched. This was just the first step towards the goal - a full website.
Thanks to the tireless efforts of Jeremy Miller, the website portion of the page has been created. There are places here to post shows, reviews, your band info, look for venues, and put up your news for all to see. The idea here is that if you have anything to share... post it! Everything you see is the result of contributions by people just like you.
This website is for musicians to meet musicians, musicians to meet fans, and to talk about all things music, Portland, or anything else you might want to share. It is also intended as a resource for putting together successful shows... band and venue listings include contact, style, and location information to help you find what you need quickly.
Soon we will be adding a FAQ section to handle all of your questions & to address problems you might run into using the site. In the meantime... explore and enjoy! And post stuff!
Overall, we strive to keep it a friendly, useful place where we can see what's going on in the community. We hope it proves to be a useful and fun place to visit.
